The Robinsons lean-to 5'4"(1619mm) greenhouse

When space is limited, or you would like your greenhouse to be close to your house, a lean-to can be the answer.  At 5’4” deep and using all of the same R-box box section technology glazing bars as the rest of the Robinsons range, this lean-to allows you to reap the benefits of your wall, which will act as a ‘heat sink’. The warmth from the sun is stored during the day and released slowly at night, which helps over-heating in the day time. With a ridge height of 8’5” and eaves height of 5’6”, this lean-to gives you plenty of working height. The sliding door can be fitted at either end of the lean-to, or an additional door can be added giving you excellent access from your home and garden.

A = 1619mm (5'4")

B = From 2012 to an unlimted length

C = 1691mm (5'6")

D = 2564mm (8'5")

E = 600mm (2')

F = 1820mm (6')

This super quality roller blind is specially designed for the Robinsons greenhouse and bolts to the glazing bars at the top of the roof. You can then pull the blind down and hook on by the gutter. Blinds are ideal to help you control the environment during the hotter weather. Internal blinds have the advantage that they are not savaged by the wind and they still allow beneficial warmth in whilst stopping harmful direct sun burn. Can also be fitted on a side of greenhouse.

These simple systems consist of Horticultural grade shade netting specially made into a kit for one side of the roof. The 8ft wide net also drapes partially down the side of the greenhouse (depending on the size of the roof). The kit hooks on when in use or you can roll it up and tie back when not required.

For the ultimate in automation add these automatic louvre openers and fix them to your louvres. That way you can be sure that you’re never caught out by a sunny spell.

Optional 6 slat louvres

Fully height adjustable, our optional staging and shelving is extremely strong as it is bolted to the side of the greenhouses using tubular cantilever supports. You can set it to your perfect working height along the complete length of your greenhouse and with no vertical legs this then leaves plenty of room underneath for storage of heavy items such as bags of compost and large pots or extra growing space.

Dwarf wall models. We can adapt most Robinsons models to sit on a standard height dwarf wall, roughly 2ft high. In addition there are a number of easy modifications that can be made to the greenhouse which will help you if you are needing a slightly more bespoke greenhouse.

Optional Victorian ridge cresting

Our integral aluminium guttering is extremely neat and strong being built into the design of the greenhouse at eaves height. Two 25mm PVC downpipes take the rainwater away and we provide a range of optional extra fittings should you wish to collect and use this valuable natural resource.

Three different finishes

You can have your greenhouse in plain aluminium. If you opt for a plain aluminium (mill) finish, then the bar capping will be provided in a contrasting white colour. You can have your Robinsons greenhouse specially powder coated in a *white or green. Powder coating is an extremely durable method of adding colour to your greenhouse. We guarantee powder coated finishes against flaking and discolouring for 10 years, though in reality, it's likely the powder coated finish will stay looking new for the lifetime of the greenhouse. Bar capping is provided in a matching colour, providing a very neat look.

*White costs 10% more, except on Victorian models where there is no extra charge.

Standard Features

Lockable  easi-glide sliding door.

Many greenhouses on the market have a step at the doorway, which can be inconvenient, and also a trip hazard. The Robinsons design has an extremely low threshold, making it perfect for wheelchair and wheelbarrow access

All roof vents are supplied as standard with top quality Bayliss XL automatic openers providing you with complete peace of mind during hot days. These ingenious devices work using a clever wax-filled cylinder that expands and contracts in changes of temperature and open the windows automatically to provide the required airflow without you having to intervene!

Fresh circulating air is so important in creating the perfect environment for growing plants.  These louvres work in conjunction with the roof vents, drawing fresh cool air in, and pushing warm stale air out.  Optional auto openers can be added to your louvres, for trouble free ventilation and further peace of mind.

These Pro-cap PVC cappings grip the glass firmly onto the air filled rubber using stainless steel screws, so there is no glass to metal contact.  A final Pro-cap cover capping hides the screw heads to leave an extremely strong glazing system that provides a beautifully neat exterior finish and amazing rigidity, making the glass in a Robinsons greenhouse virtually impossible to blow out. Whilst Mill, White and Green coloured greenhouses have  coloured PVC capping, the new colours of Anthracite, Pastel Sage, Ivory and Old Cottage Green have colour coordinated aluminium cover capping.

Robinsons are probably the strongest greenhouses made in the UK today, not only because more aluminium goes into the frame, but also because of the ingenious design.  Robinsons use unique box section glazing bars, setting them apart from other brands, which often use an inferior T-shaped section.  The box section design gives a much sturdier frame, which is particularly resistant to twist, vital for strength in windy conditions.

One of the most vulnerable glazed areas of your greenhouse, is the area just above ground level, where stones flying from lawnmowers can shatter an entire panel. Robinsons greenhouses have all been designed with a 12" high pane all around the base of the greenhouse, making it cheaper and easier to replace.

Downpipes come as standard with a Robinsons. Fitting neatly onto the integral guttering and clipped to the corner bar, they are ideal for channeling and ultimately storing precious rainwater, when a water butt is added.  Additional angled joints and pipes can be added, to create the perfect configuration to suit your needs.
